Movement is everywhere. But deep rest has almost disappeared from our lives.
Modern health culture emphasizes movement: strength, mobility and performance.
Movement is essential. The body needs movement to stay alive and adaptable.
Yet in my work as a Restorative Yoga teacher, I increasingly encounter another reality: bodies that no longer know how to rest.
Many people exercise regularly and take care of their health. But beneath this activity a subtle state of vigilance often remains.
The nervous system continues to scan and anticipate. Even when external activity slows down, the body may remain slightly alert.
Over time this ongoing activation can influence:
- sleep
- inflammation
- hormonal balance
- recovery
Understanding how the nervous system returns to regulation is therefore essential.
Restorative Yoga offers a particularly refined approach to supporting this process.
When practiced with precision, Restorative Yoga does not simply encourage relaxation. It creates the physiological conditions that allow the nervous system to regulate and the body to experience deep rest.
This conversation is an invitation to explore the relationship between Restorative Yoga, fascia and nervous system regulation.
What we will explore
During this session we will explore three essential questions:
- Why deep rest has become difficult for modern nervous systems
- How silence, stillness and support influence nervous system regulation
- How Restorative Yoga can help the body return to genuine recovery
The session will include a short guided Restorative Yoga practice followed by time for questions.
